Riding with Candy was sending my mind into overdrive. I was with Amere for years and never felt like this through all of his cheating and eventually having a baby on me. Rashard and I aren’t even together and he got me feeling funny about this Chardae chick. I know I shouldn’t care because we hadn’t placed a title on whatever it is that we were doing but the fact is, I do care. How am I supposed to take him serious if he’s not taking dating me serious? True enough, we aren’t in a relationship but we are dating. We spend a lot of time together and he takes me out on dates, and I know he’s not doing that for anyone else. I thought I was special but that means nothing when he has community dick. I can do without those problems. Why should I give my all to a man that’s giving pieces of himself to everyone?

“You might as well crash at my spot since it’s so late. It will take forever for us to go back to the club when I live closer,” Candy said and interrupted my thoughts.

“Ok. I’m just tired,” I responded to her before lying my head back and looking out of the window.

“What’s up girl?” Candy asked but we were interrupted by the ringing of her phone. “What’s up boss?” Candy asked as she answered her phone. I knew right away that it was Rashard. I have no idea why she calls him boss but I’ve picked up on it. “My house,” she said as I cut my eyes at her. “Good,” she said as I grabbed the phone and hung it up. I placed her phone in the cup holder before looking out the window of my car.

“What did you see?” Candy asked, which caused me to look at her. “When you had his phone, what did you see that hurt your feelings?” she asked more direct.

“Fuck Rashard! Nigga ain’t hurt my feelings,” I said and rolled my eyes. I don’t have time to deal with niggas like Rashard, it just isn’t safe. I have too much going on good for myself to allow myself to become down and out because of a man.

“You trying to convince me or you?” Candy asked as she turned off into a nice little neighborhood. I looked at each house and wanted to move out of the apartment I shared with Armani before she was taken.

We pulled into a small house with the letter C on the door. It made me wonder if her real name was Candy. She hopped out and I followed suit, trailing her to the front door. When you first walk in, you’re standing in the area to hang your coats. Walking further inside is the living room with a big screen TV mounted on the wall. She had two brown couches with yellow and green throw pillows. There’s a fluffy yellow, brown, and green rug on the floor with a glass table on top of it. She had fake flowers hanging in pots in each corner of the living room. Towards the back of the living room, you can see into the open kitchen. What I mean by open kitchen is the way the wall is made with a portion of it cut out, you can watch TV while cooking. There wasn’t any room for a table, so I guess she eats while watching TV. To the left is a hallway with a long, brown, fluffy rug on the floor. She had bible scriptures hanging in the hallway. The first door on the right is the bathroom. I opened the bathroom door and its color scheme was the same as the living room. I really like her bathroom because the tub and shower aren’t together. They’re on opposite ends on the bathroom. I didn’t see the toilet until I opened another door to a room that housed only the toilet. Walking back out of the bathroom, I opened the only door on the left with the same color scheme. The furniture inside was brown but the comforter set was yellow and the pillowcases were green. The last room on the right was huge and everything was white. It looked so clean and pure that I didn’t walk inside because I feared I would get something dirty. The carpet was white, all of the furniture was white, and she had a custom made all white comfort set with a letter C in the center of the bed and on one of the pillow cases.

“I see you’ve made your nosey self at home,” Candy said with a slight chuckle.

“Why the hell you only have a C on one pillow case?” I asked because I was really confused.

“Because I’m the only one that sleeps in the bed and I only sleep on that side,” she said, which confused me more.

“All the more reason to put a C on both pillowcases,” I said.

“If I put a C on both pillowcases, I’m giving up hope and I’ll be alone and lonely forever. Leaving it empty leaves my heart open. One day I’ll fall in love and get married and then the letter of his first name can be on that pillow case,” she explained and I began to understand what she meant.

“Makes sense,” I said before I turned to walk back into the living room.

I powered on the TV and walked over to the couch. “No ma’am,” Candy said and placed her hand on my back, preventing me from sitting down.

“What?” I asked confused again.

“We been clubbing all night and got dragged on the ground and everything, so don’t sit your all day ass on my couch bitch, hit the shower,” Candy said, which made me laugh as I headed for the bathroom. “I’ll bring something in for you to sleep in when I find something your size!” Candy yelled as I was closing the door. I turned the shower on first to steam the bathroom up as I got undressed. Looking down at my legs, I saw they weren’t as bad as I thought they would be from on the cement and trying to stop that guy from grabbing Candy. The skin was broken but it didn’t look that bad at all.

Stepping in the shower was like heaven as the hot water pummeled my skin with force. I wish my shower at home had this kind of pressure, I’d never get out of it. I stood under the water for about twenty minutes before I lathered my skin with lavender dove soap. The bathroom smelled so good. I stepped out of the shower after drying off and began to search for lotion. I came across a whole closet filled with scented lotion and body wash sets. I chose Amber Romance because the scent is soft and subtle. I sat on the toilet and began to lotion my entire body. It wasn’t until I was about to open the door and yell for Candy that I saw the clothes on the sink.

I grabbed the pack of underwear first before opening it and sliding into a pair of all black boy shorts. I followed up with a muscle shirt and some shorts I knew belonged to Candy’s ass because they were so loose around the hip and butt area. I grabbed the draw string and pulled them tight before I tied them up.

I walked out of the bathroom and headed into the living room where I saw Candy watching TV on the couch. “Bitch, I thought nobody could sit on the couch smelling like all day?” I asked her as I laughed on my way down the hall.

“Bitch, I got a bathroom in my room, what you mean?” Candy said as she grilled me. She couldn’t keep the mean mug on her face for nothing in the world as she began to smile. I walked in and sat on the other couch in front of the TV table with a meal on it.

“I know you haven’t been in here cooking! I was that long?” I asked, causing her to laugh while shaking her head.

“I cooked this before work. I just warmed it up while you were installing the water pipes in the guest bathroom,” she said, implying it took me long enough to do just that.

Shaking my head at her, I stopped long enough to bow my head and say my grace. Opening my eyes, I stared at the steak, shrimp, and broccoli with a watering mouth. The steak was already cut into bite size pieces, so all I had to do was dig in! It took me ten minutes to scarf down the meal she prepared. “Bitch, you’re the truth!” I said to Candy as I grabbed my plate and took it into the kitchen.

“I heard you were too. Every time you cook for Shard, his ass come around bragging,” she said as she laughed. My mind instantly went to the fact that he’s with Chardae when he should be with me.

“Tell me what’s wrong,” Candy said as she noticed the shift in my attitude when she mentioned him.

“What time is it?” I asked.

“5,” Candy answered after checking her phone.

“Damn, I’m not gonna be able to go in,” I said before I found my phone to call in. Nurse Jennifer was with a patient, so I told the project manager I wasn’t feeling well and she would relay the message to Jennifer for me. I sat down on the couch before leaning back against the soft pillows. I knew Candy was waiting on me to tell her but I really didn’t want to appear petty.

Taking a deep breath, I looked over at Candy. “He’s with Chardae right now. Someone tried to snatch you, more than likely thinking you were me, so he should be wherever I’m at!” I said and watched her face change from concern to anger.

“You right! That nigga ain’t shit, forreal. He hasn’t been in a while but he’s changing for you,” she said, saying what I wanted to hear.

“You said exactly what I wanted to hear, letting me know you’re his friend, not mine. You should have said what I needed to hear,” I stated as I looked her square in the eyes. She looked offended but quickly washed it away.

“Naw, I said exactly what it is. That nigga ain’t shit but he’s changing for you. I didn’t tell you not to beat the fuck out that nigga because I would. Hell, I’d do a pop up on both of their asses so he can’t lie later but Rashard ain’t no lying ass nigga. All you have to do is ask him because I promise he will keep it all the way funky. You walking around acting like you don’t care about him but you sitting here in your feelings because he’s with the next bitch. Get over it. Ya’ll single bitch, do you, while you sitting over here mad and he over there chilling,” she stated then sat back on the couch. I just sat there because she’s so right. I’d never given anyone this much power over me mentally and I don’t plan to start now.

“You so right,” I said as I stood to my feet. “I’m going to bed,” I continued and walked away from her. As soon as my head hit the soft pillows, I was out.

Rashard

I was sweating like I was stuck under the devil’s toenails as I stood in the bathroom waiting on the results. Chardae stayed planted on the toilet and I was hoping the bitch wasn’t shitting. Any normal individual would have stood up by now if they were done pissing but she’s still sitting on the toilet.

Those two minutes felt like eternity as I watched the cross slowly appear, which indicated this bitch really was pregnant. “Fuck!” I said before I punched a hole in her wall and stormed out the house. I desperately needed to get my mind right. I haven’t smoked in so long but I needed to be high to deal with this shit. After all the women I’d been through without getting anybody pregnant, I wait until I find the perfect person for me and fuck it up before it start. I knew I should have cut everybody off but I still had been fucking off just because I could. I had been spending a lot of time with Tamia but she hadn’t been giving up the pussy, so this is really just as much her fault as it is mine so she can’t be mad at nobody but herself.

As I walked down to my trap house, I noticed the fiends were lingering around. These niggas had strict orders to serve them inside and either let them smoke that shit two at a time in the basement or send they ass packing. These damn smokers leaning on fucking air in the yard of the trap house. “Man, ya’ll get ya’ll asses on!” I snapped and pushed the fiends towards the street. I didn’t have to push all of them because they followed suit like the zombies do on the walking dead. Walking into the house, I noticed what was wrong immediately! There was a little ass nigga sleep on the couch and I heard moaning in the kitchen. Now, Twan put a little cat named T Dog in charge of this spot while he handled some business with his family, and I hadn’t met him yet. I had a feeling he wasn’t going to like me after this but I’d kill the nigga if something happened to this spot.

Walking around the corner, I heard the moaning getting louder as I turned into the kitchen.  I stood there for a second and watched Tiffany get banged from the back. She was yelling and carrying on as he just continued to beat it from the back. I kept checking the time and ten minutes later, they were still at it. I was trying to be nice and let this nigga catch his nut until I thought about who he was fucking. If a nigga can fuck you for hours without stopping and he ain’t drunk, then your pussy garbage, plain and simple. It doesn’t happen that way with grade A cat. Good pussy made you continuously switch your stroke game up to keep from cumming and you still lose the battle. Then she gets you back up and ya’ll go at it again but three hours straight? Naw, you might as well just stop him and suck him off.

“Nigga, you’re not gonna nut,” I stated as I leaned against the table. Both of them jumped as I looked away briefly for him to stick his dick in his pants. I could see it all over Tiffany’s face that she was embarrassed as she pulled her skirt down over her ass. Shit looked dry from over here.

“Um…” Tiffany started but I silenced her by holding my hand up.

“Oh shit, dog, this you?” T Dog asked, looking crazy.

“Fuck na! I fucked her one time and I’ll never stick my dick in the Sahara again, my nigga!” I said, which caused him to laugh. She was still standing there but now with an attitude. “Get out!” I snapped at her, which caused her to jump and walk out the kitchen. “Aye, lemme holla at you, bro,” I said and walked into the living room.

It took him several minutes before he came in but I understood exactly what he was going through. Shit, I don’t know about him but when I was smashing her dry ass, it was hella uncomfortable!

“What’s good?” he asked as he came into the living room to take a seat.

“Ain’t shit good, man! Wake yo ass up, lil nigga!” I said as I slapped the fuck out of ole boy on the couch. He jumped up and scurried away, which made me wonder why his scary ass was in charge of any damn thing. “Ya’ll in this bitch either sleep or fucking! Got fiends hanging around in the yard and shit! I could have come in here and killed both you bitches, and you wouldn’t have saw shit coming!” I snapped as I looked between the two idiots before me.

“Aye man, I know you mad but I ain’t no bitch,” the guy that was asleep said as he stood up. I stood toe to toe with him and as soon as I pulled my pants up, he pulled out a pistol and aimed it between my eyes.

“What you doing bro?” T Dog said as he looked between us.

“Who the fuck he think he is coming in here and calling us bitches!” dude snapped before cocking his pistol. “I should kill you!” he said and looked at me as T Dog stood there shaking his head.

“You should,” I said as I looked him dead in his eyes. He frowned slightly before glancing at T Dog.

Wrong move. I used that time to grab my pistol. I cocked it and shot him in the leg in one swift motion and caused him to fall to the ground while letting off a shot. “Never pull a gun out on a nigga you ain’t gonna kill right away,” I stated calmly before I sent two rounds to his head. “I need a blunt,” I said to T Dog, who walked away to get it for me. “Call the clean-up crew for me,” I said and walked out the front door with enough weed to roll two blunts. Thankfully, the fiends were no longer hanging around.

I walked back to my car, so I could head to the store to get a cigarillo. As soon as I walked in, I saw Natashia from the club in the back of the store. I wanted to go holla at her but decided against it, since I already had a lot going on right now. I purchased my cigarillo and headed back to Chardae’s house. For some reason, I needed to make sure she was ok. If she is in fact carrying my seed, then I need to make sure she stays happy so she won’t tell anyone, and I won’t have to worry about Tamia finding out.

I thought about calling Tamia on the short drive back to Chardae’s house but being how late it was, she’s probably asleep. I sat in my parked car in Chardae’s yard until I looked up and noticed she was standing in the doorway. I hopped out my car and done a light jog to the door and the first thing I noticed was her eyes were glossy. “You been crying or smoking?” I asked because I couldn’t tell. She looked at me, rolled her eyes, and turned back around. I followed behind her and sniffed the air all over her crib until I was satisfied that she hadn’t smoked anything. She went in her room, and I sat in the living room and smoked my blunt.

“You coming to bed or you leaving?” she asked as she stood in the living room like I’m not in here smoking.

“Man, get yo ass out of here, you see I’m smoking! Take yo ass to sleep or something!” I snapped as I cut my eyes at her. I didn’t need my baby inhaling this shit, so she needed to take her ass to bed. I watched her walk away until I couldn’t see her anymore. Shaking my head, I continued smoking my blunt until it was too small to hold.

Standing to my feet, I walked slowly to Chardae’s room and prepared to stay overnight for the first time. I stripped down to my boxers before climbing in the bed. I pulled Chardae close to me and tried to fall asleep, but I couldn’t. Being here with her just didn’t feel right. I waited until she fell asleep before I got dressed and headed down to my condo.

By the time I made it home, it was almost 5a.m. I hopped in the shower and fell asleep on the couch. When I woke up again, it was 3:30p.m. and I was behind schedule. Grabbing a burner phone, I sent the
I’m in need
text to my runners, so they know to holla at their connects. My plan was to send that message out last night but unforeseen circumstances prevented that from happening. Now, unless they could get the product today, we’d be off schedule for distribution.

I checked my phone and had several messages and a few missed calls. I didn’t check the messages once I saw my mom called and left a voice message. “Hey baby, this is your mother. You know the lady that carried you for nine months and gave birth to you? You know the one that always has to call you to hear your voice? Yes, that one. The family will be coming over today at 5 to eat and you’d better be here. Love you,” my mom said in her voice message and caused me to laugh. That lady is something else with herself.

Since I didn’t have much time, I hopped back in the shower and headed over to my mom’s house. When I pulled up, everybody’s vehicles were already there. I was real shocked to see my Aunt Jennifer’s BMW in the driveway. Working normally kept her pretty busy and we don’t get to see her too often, so it’s good she showed up. Walking in the house, the first person I saw was Bo’s leaching ass sitting in the Lay Z boy chair I bought mama last Christmas. “What’s up Bo?” I asked as I passed through the living room. He gave me a slight head nod before focusing his attention back on the TV. Myra and Ashley were both in the kitchen laughing and talking to mama and Aunt Jennifer. “How ya’ll doing beautiful ladies?” I asked as soon as I entered. Myra and Ashley both turned to look at me before sharing a glance and laughing.

“Speak of the devil! Hey nephew,” Aunt Jennifer said before she gave me a hug.

“Why ya’ll talking about me? What I do?” I asked and stepped around the new island style counter to hug my mama.

“When you gone settle down? Let me know when you’re ready because I got the perfect girl your age that I work with,” Aunt Jennifer said.

“No thank ya, auntie. I have a lot on my plate right now,” I said and shook my head. “Where my babies at?” I asked because they normally come running when I pull up.

“They’re out back in that damn bouncy house slide shit you bought,” Bo said out of nowhere with his hating ass. I have no idea why he’s such a hater. We grew up in the same house, we had the same opportunities, and the same twenty-four hours a day. That man could have gotten it out the mud just like I did. I worked my way up in these streets, starting as the lookout for neighborhood drug dealers every day after school. It was me, Twan, and Dre out there earning trust until we made it to corner boy status. I slowly worked my way up and the higher I advanced, the more ghost I became.

“You got a problem, Bo?” Ashley asked and looked at him.

“Not today ya’ll,” my mama said as she tried to intervene.

“Not in front of company, huh, ma?” Bo asked without turning away from the refrigerator.

“Nigga, I ain’t no damn company!” Aunt Jennifer snapped and turned around to face the direction Bo was standing.

“Shit, you don’t live here,” Bo said, finally turning around to face us.

“Nigga, I pay just as many bills here as you do,” Aunt Jennifer said.

“He don’t pay no bills,” Myra countered.

“Exactly! Fucking leach! Old ass nigga living off his mama, yea, I know you moved in. What happened, baby mama put you out again? If you get your own shit can’t nobody put you out. Then wanna come in here with an attitude with Shard when you need to be thanking him,” Aunt Jennifer snapped, letting me know that she’s pissed. She’s normally cool and calm and you can’t tell she grew up in the hood. Instead of responding, Bo stormed out the kitchen like the bitch made nigga he is.

I got up and headed to the backyard, so I could play with my babies. “What Unc babies out here doing?” I yelled as they were climbing over the wall in the spacewalk to slide down. Iyana jumped down to come back out the way she went in, Jamila pushed Michael over so she could go ahead and slide down, so they could all run to me. Iyana got to me first and jumped in the air before she got to me. I took a step closer to catch her and spun her around as I rained kisses all over her face. I put her down just in time for Jamila to jump on my back and kiss my cheeks. I glanced over at the spacewalk and Michael was having trouble walking inside of it without falling, so he could get out. I put Jamila down and crawled inside the spacewalk to grab Michael. “What’s up big man?” I asked. He pointed at the wall, so I put him on my neck and climbed up before sliding down. I stayed outside and played with my babies until mama called us inside to eat.

“You know if you settle down with somebody, you can spoil your own kids the way you spoil them,” my mama said and opened the door for me to tell her about Chardae.

“Ma, we need to talk,” I said as I finished the last dish. Ashley and Myra had already left with the kids, so I offered to stay around and help clean up since I know Bo’s sorry ass ain’t gone help her.

“Yes we do, son. I think your brother on that shit again. The other day he came in all hyped up talking about ungrateful bitches and something about a coffee table or something,” Mama said with concern written all over her face.

The last time he was on some shit, we had to get him court committed rehab because he held the neighbors hostage with a toy gun. He told them they couldn’t leave until the last blood moon. The shit was so crazy because he was telling them about the world ending after the fourth blood moon and it just so happened that he had them barricaded inside during a blood moon. He was determined to keep them safe from the flames from the pit of hell that would soon engulf the earth. Them folks were scared shitless too! He called himself baptizing them and their cats in the tub.

“Maybe some shit had just popped off with his baby mama or something. You know how he get when he’s mad,” I said and tried to ease her mind.

“You right baby, I just wish he would do more for himself. I want him to do better because I know he knows better,” she said and shook her head. “So, what you need to talk about?” she asked, changing the subject.

“Just about how much I love you,” I said smiling because she completely closed the door to me telling her I think I fell in love but got another person pregnant. The sound of my text message tone going off took my attention briefly. It was that
it’s a go
message I was waiting on. “I’m out mama, I love you,” I said and kissed her on the cheek and heading to my safe house, so I could do the drop.
