“You
dare
to force my female,” Zyn uttered, with a passionate deepness.

“You can’t escape!” Vane screamed.

Zyn bared his fangs at Vane. “We were a team. We had each other’s back,” Zyn uttered, as he realized how much that bothered him.

“This suit is killing me,” Vane snarled, not fighting Zyn’s hold. “I can’t touch anything.
Feel
anything.”

Zyn knew about living without feelings, and living with them, as he tilted his head to the side. He had intended to end Vane’s life—

“Let him live,”
his mate sent to him.

But Zyn could perceive that she would accept what he decided.

“Forcing someone is the same as being forced yourself,” Zyn said, and then he dropped Vane, who crumbled to the deck, while clutching his throat area.

“The money might have gotten me out of this suit,” Vane muttered.

Zyn didn’t comment, and he didn’t look back as he sped to find his mate.

“I can’t believe it,” Anna said, when he’d entered the cleansing chamber. She was looking in the mirror as he stopped behind her. Her fingertips touched around the outside corner of her eyes. “They have gold pulses in them, like your red ones.”

Zyn cupped her waist from behind and pulled her against him. “They are beautiful,” he said.

“And I can move so fast,” she said, as she turned toward him. “It just happened. One minute I was slow, the next minute fast.”

She reached her arms over his shoulders and pulled him down for a kiss. “Oh my lords, even this is more intense,” she whispered against his mouth. He thought her kisses were always powerful. “I read it is like protection for Vipers mates. For their young and for them,” she said.

Zyn felt even more powerful things move through him. His woman could protect herself better now ... to protect their young.

“I approve of this. It is very sensible,” he said.

Anna made a small laugh. “I heard you let him live. It is so sad to know how much he suffers in that suit.”

Zyn muttered deeply. “But you are still too soft. You need my protection.”

“You didn’t kill him,” she reminded him. “But I like your protection.”

“Come, my beautiful mate, let’s find one of this ship’s transports and go to our home.”

“And lay naked on our new bed again,”
his mate had projected into his mind.

“Very naked, so I can lick you as I promised,”
He had projected back to her.

“Zyn!” Anna exclaimed out loud. “You always out do me.”
