“Never?”

He shook his head. “I always made certain I never put a human at risk. It was bad enough stealing energy from a woman without telling her, let alone leaving her alone and pregnant. Thank hell Lucifer rescinded that law about having to suck humans dry so she could collect their souls. Otherwise I would have faded well before this.”

Mina wrinkled her nose. “Ack, don’t bring Aunt Luce into this, not right now. Less talking and more fucking, okay?”

Jedd chuckled. “Your wish is my command, Mistress.” He raised her slightly then allowed her to slip down the length of his cock again.

A moan escaped her at the silky glide of his hard erection “So good,
sooo
good. Don’t stop.”

“Oh, I don’t plan to.”

“Harder. Faster,” she cried out, increasing the speed of her movements.

Jedd took her at her word, tilting his hips and ramming into her. Deep. So deep. Her insides quivered. Her clit set up an insistent throb as the friction generated heat that translated into a wash of hormones, which coursed through her body then reversed to drive down to her pussy again.

Sweat beaded her brow, temperature hiked. Her breathing sped up to match the beat of her heart as moisture pooled in her pussy. All she could hear besides her own ragged breathing were the hoarse growls Jedd gave. The slap of perspiration-slicked flesh coming together in the oldest of dances drove the tension higher. The muscles in her gut grew taut and she tightened around Jedd’s cock, never wanting this to finish.

The first of the spasms rippled out from where they were joined. Mina ground against him, holding still for an infinitesimal moment, then nature took its course and ripped control from her.

“Take from me, Jedd,” she cried out before she lost the ability to articulate clearly.

“No,” he gasped. “Might not be able to stop. Don’t want to suck you dry if I lose control.”

He continued to thrust into her—hard, fast—his cock an erotic weapon that drove her over the edge. Before she totally lost it, she managed to convey one last thing. “Can’t suck me dry. One-eighth, remember?”

It was like a dam breaking, in more ways than one. Jedd fastened his mouth over hers, his tongue sweeping in to tangle with hers. At the same time, his cock pounded into her, filling her then retreating, only to repeat the movement with devastating effect. Then he pushed deep again and held tight, yelling out her name into her mouth as he catapulted into his own climax.

The spasms deep inside Mina’s pussy grew in magnitude, spread out and wrapped her whole body in blinding sensation. Then Jedd deepened the kiss and Mina felt a burst of renewed heat inside her chest. The energy between them built and with a final thrust from Jedd, it rolled up her body and filled her throat. Jedd sucked it down, taking it from her lips, breathing it in from her open mouth.

The experience was so erotic, such a deep sharing, that it rocked Mina’s orgasm to a new high. The tension rose again, tightening the muscles in her pussy to hold Jedd fast. Her body shook, her mind shut down and she shattered, screaming out Jedd’s name at the moment of her completion.

She sagged in his arms, boneless, rational thought beyond her for the moment. With her head rested on his shoulder, she gasped for air, shuddering as the last tremors of her orgasm stuttered through her body.

When she could finally string two words together, she raised her head and grinned at Jedd. “Well, holy fucking hell.”

He shook his head. “Nuh-uh, not Hell. This is surely Heaven.”

Chapter Six

Jedd’s legs felt decidedly rubbery. He was surprised he and Mina hadn’t ended up down on the floor. Although, come to think of it, that wouldn’t be such a bad thing. Getting horizontal presented a whole stack of raunchy scenarios that he’d love to try out. And on that note…

“You awake, Mina?”

She chuckled but didn’t raise her head from his shoulder. “Yeah, awake, but I may very well be dead. I think you’ve done me in.”

“And what a way to go.”

He straightened up, widening his stance to stabilize his balance. His cock, still nestled inside Mina’s pretty pussy, suddenly twitched and made its presence felt. His blood heated and drove south, and Jedd detected the beginnings of a new erection forming.

Well, that had never happened before. Only with Mina! He grinned and silently admonished his unruly dick not to be so impatient. Plenty of time for more of the same later.
I hope!

With Mina still hanging from his front, he staggered into the bedroom and bent over the mattress. “I’m about to drop you, babe. You ready?”

“Aw, that means I’ll lose you.” She pushed her hips closer to him and buried his cock deeper.

“Never. Not if I have anything to do with it,” he muttered as he allowed Mina to drop to the bed.

He followed her down, sliding his arm under her head and snuggling her into his side. Damn, this felt so right, Mina here with him. He never wanted it to end. Then he grimaced. Lord Lucifer would cut his balls off for toying with her niece. Thing was, he wasn’t toying. Having this woman in his life was the one thing guaranteed to give him lasting happiness.

Damn, he sounded like a wuss. Men were supposed to be strong—weren’t supposed to spout off about their feelings. Well, hell…if loving Mina made him a pansy, too bad. He could live with it, but he couldn’t live without her.

His jaw dropped as he realized where all this introspection had led. How about that? He’d fancied Mina when she was a teenager. Wanted her like crazy when she’d turned up again to help him catch a woman. Now it came home to him that he wanted so much more, that she meant so much more than just a casual screw.

“That was—”

“Amazing. Wonderful. Soul-shattering,” he cut in. “The most incredible moment of my life.”

“Yeah, all that,” she agreed.

“Was I man enough for you? You’re not disappointed?”

She rolled her head on the pillow so she could look at him. “Hell, no, you can be my number one man whenever you like.”

He closed his eyes briefly and swallowed the lump in his throat. “You mean that?”

This time she frowned at him. “Ah, yeah. I wouldn’t say it if I didn’t mean it.”

“Then how about your one and
only
man? Could you live with that?”

Mina propped herself up on one elbow. “Are you asking what I think you’re asking?”

He nodded. “I was jealous as hell when those other incubi came on to you. I wanted to thrash the lot of them, simply for being near you.” Pausing a moment, he gathered his thoughts. “What I said in the living room, about not wanting to keep taking from women? I meant it, but not quite how it came out. I didn’t want to feed from anyone but you. Um, I wanted…”

Mina pushed herself up to sit beside him, combing her tumbled curls back from her face. “Okay, Jedd, let me try to make this easier for you. How about I put my heart on the line first? I’ve hungered for you since I was barely old enough to understand the attraction between men and woman. That’s never changed. Oh, I’ve had relationships in the past with human men, but they all fell short when I compared them to you. I was angry as hell at you for your arrogant put-down when I was seventeen, but that didn’t stop me wanting you.”

“And now? Are you prepared to see where this goes?” He held his breath as he waited for her reply.

“Listen here, buster. I ever see you anywhere near another woman, let alone feeding from her, I’ll turn your balls into one of those swinging dice ornaments to hang from the mirror in my car.”

Jedd burst out laughing. “Damn, that’s the best declaration of love I’ve ever heard.” He sobered, the humor disappearing from his face. “We have a problem though. Lucifer warned me off you in no uncertain terms. How are we going to handle that?”

“You leave Aunt Luce to me.” She gave a mischievous grin. “I need to come up with a foolproof plan to pay her back for interfering in my life. Although, she did get us together. I guess I need to cut her
some
slack.” Her last few words were almost swallowed up in a massive yawn.

Jedd pulled her down beside him. “Let’s get some sleep. Need to keep my strength up if I want to keep up with you.” He rolled to his side, his head propped up on one arm. “Ah, there’s one thing I should mention, my love.”

She scowled at him. “What?”

“You realize you still have your high heels on? In bed?”

She raised one long, naked leg into the air, the foot clad in the strappy, heeled sandal, and started to laugh. “My fuck-me shoes. Wanna take me up on the offer?”

* * * *

Mina rolled over, taking care not to wake Jedd. She eased to the side of the bed and slid her legs over. Once standing upright, she turned to look at Jedd. He was still sound asleep, gentle puffs coming from his partially opened mouth. At least he didn’t snore—or not that she’d heard anyway.

They’d forgotten to close the drapes last night. Too many other things on their minds, namely getting horizontal. The early dawn light, still brushed with a film of dusky gray, streaked in through the glass sliding doors leading to the balcony, allowing her the opportunity to check out Jedd’s body as he lay sprawled on the bed, the sheet twisted about his hips.

God, he was sensational. She wanted nothing more than to climb back into bed with him. She’d hungered for this man since she’d been a teenager and although she was supposedly grown up now, nothing had changed. Her pussy throbbed, dampness gathering, at the mere idea of getting down and dirty with Jedd again.

Shaking her head at her wayward hormones, she grabbed her shoes and crept into the living room. After retrieving her dress and panties she slipped them on. Then she sat and buckled on her shoes, grimacing as her feet protested having to wear heels at this time of the morning.

She finger-combed her hair as she tiptoed back into the bedroom and bent to drop a soft kiss on Jedd’s shoulder. When she pulled back, he reached out and grasped her hand.

“What are you doing?” he mumbled, cracking open his eyes to stare at her.

“I’m heading off. I’d really like to get home before daylight.” She grinned. “Won’t do for the neighbors to see the staid old tax auditor arrive home with the milk delivery, still wearing the fancy clubbing outfit she left in the night before.”

“Do you really care?”

She shook her head. “Not really, but I have some things to do and I need time to get my head together before I confront Aunt Luce.”

We
, not I,” he responded. “This concerns both of us. You know she’s going to be seriously pissed at us, don’t you? She
did
make a point of warning me off you.”

“Too bad, so sad.” Mina shrugged. “I’m not about to walk away from you now. I really want to see where this goes.”

“Good.” He started to sit up, but Mina pushed him back, dropping a quick kiss on his parted lips.

“No, stay there. I’ll let myself out and snib the door behind me.”

“You’ll call me when you’re ready to go visit Lucifer?”

“You bet.” She backed away from the bed, even as Jedd tried to pull her down for another kiss…or something even better. If they started anything right now, she might never leave that bed.

Giving him a small wave, she headed out. She thought she heard the murmur of voices when she reached the front door, then shook her head. Must have been imagination. Nobody else would be up this early.

She opened the door and stepped out, then eased it shut behind her. Before she could take another step, a hand clamped across her mouth and someone grabbed her hands and twisted them behind her back. Her immediate reaction was to struggle but to no avail. Whoever held her was too strong and took care to stay out of the way of her high heels.

Then she caught a whiff of a distinctive odor.

Pheromones.

Damn it to hell, not these guys again.

“Well, well, I finally have you. You’re a hard woman to pin down, Ms. Tempest.”

Mina stared at the man leaning against the wall opposite the entrance to Jedd’s apartment. She hadn’t seen him for a very long time, but that didn’t stop her recognizing him. He was just as good-looking as he’d always been, but he needed to work on his human persona. Two little orange horns peeked through his curly black hair.

Neville
.

Damn the man to hell, although heaven help her, he was already there.

A shaft of red-hot anger knifed through Mina’s gut, heating her blood and driving her temperature higher. She jerked her head around, trying to dislodge the hand covering her mouth.

“Oh, do take your hand away, Darryl, you darling boy. We can’t expect her to answer us if you’re stopping her talking, can we?”

Darryl—
Darryl, you darling boy
?—removed his hand, but took hold of her upper arm instead. Mina twisted her head to look at him and discovered it was the man who’d first accosted her outside the nightclub.

She transferred her attention back to Neville as he let loose with a loud whistle. The door to the stairwell opened and the same group of incubi from the club slipped into the hallway, gathering around Neville.

Mina decided it was time to go on the offensive instead of standing there like a victim. “What the frickin’ hell do you think you’re doing, Neville?”

“Oh, I don’t
think
anything. I
know
.” He inspected his nails, as if he didn’t have a care in the world. “My boys are here to suck you dry, my dear. Of course, I can’t do it myself. I’m really not into incest.”

He patted the cheek of the incubus closest to him. “Besides, I much prefer my boys. Women are so…fussy, for want of a better word. Just so much trouble. But with you out of the way, Lucifer will have to name me as the next Lord of Hell.”

Mina’s mouth dropped open for a moment. Good gracious, the man was mad. “You have to be kidding. You think I’ll stand for your bully boys holding me down and raping me simply so you can suck the energy out of me?”

“Oh no, my dear, you won’t be standing. You’ll be lying down.”

He laughed at his sick joke and waved a hand at the incubi. “Take her into the stairwell, my darling boys. It shouldn’t take long with so many of you.”
