Acknowledgments

As
always, thanks to my wonderful husband and kids who have now become well
accustomed to the “the rules” when I’m working. And I appreciate that you
understand why it’s necessary for me to work such late hours sometimes. You
can’t just turn off my muse. He’s funny that way. I love you all for being so patient
and understanding.

To George—thank you so much for your extensive knowledge of
the world of chess. I never realized there was a whole other world out there.
Thank you for allowing me to pick your brain and for putting up with all my
endless questions. My head was spinning at times from your highly enlightening
responses, but I am eternally grateful that I had a real person walking me
through this rather than me having to look it all up on my own. Cheers!

To my
critique partner and good friend, New York Times best-selling author
Abbi
Glines
—I'm blessed to have a
superstar author like you reading my work and giving me feedback. And the
biggest perk is I get to read all your stuff before it’s out too! Don’t be
hatin

,
everyone. ;)

To my
beta readers, Dawn Winter, Judy
DeVries
, and Emily
Lamphear
, you’re all just an amazing group of women, and I
feel so blessed to have found you. Aside from always being floored at how
quickly you all read the MS and just as quickly have a full report back to me,
you have all slowly become very special to me. I really don't know what I’d do
without you guys! I look forward to working with you on all my other projects!

To my
one-stop superhero beta reader/editor/formatter and listener to all my whiny
rants/vents and obsessive worrying
Theresa
(Eagle Eyes) Wegand
! You have truly been God sent, and I’m so, so glad I
found you. Your work is impeccable, and I can’t say enough about it. Thank you
so much!

A special
shout out to “my girls,” my very special group of authors who without you I
think I’d be insane by now. You really are the only ones who truly
truly
“get it.” Thank you for the support, love, and
always
being there, ready to say the perfect thing when I need to hear
it most. I love you!

And, of
course, my incredibly awesome readers! Thank you so much for your continued
support, emails, messages, and comments, which always seem to come at the most
perfect time, making me smile and sometimes even tear up. I love you guys, and
I can’t wait to get the next one out to you!!

About
the Author

Elizabeth Reyes was
born and raised in southern California and still lives there with her husband
of almost nineteen years, her two teens, her Great Dane named Dexter, and one
big fat cat named Tyson.

She spends eighty
percent of time in front of her computer, writing and keeping up with all the
social media, and loves it. She says that there is nothing better than doing
what you absolutely love for a living, and she eats, sleeps, and breathes these
stories, which are constantly begging to be written.
