She giggled and pulled him down next to her, gesturing at his phone. “I want to see my pictures, please,” she murmured, nuzzling his neck.

He pulled her head down to his shoulder and held his phone in front of them, engaging his album. He spoke to her, describing what he loved best about each and every shot, going through picture by picture of her.

* * * *

There were a few pictures she hadn’t realized he had snapped of her. One was while she was sleeping on the sectional, curled into James’s side, during a movie they had watched together. James was looking down at her tenderly as he held her close to him. She touched the picture tenderly. There was another of her standing in front of the stove. She was leaning over it and looking into a pot with a spoon held in her hand. She was also surrounded by cookies. That picture was taken not long after she had just decided to try to stay and find a job and fit in the lives of these two men.

When they reached the pictures they just sent to James, she giggled as she saw herself stripping for Chad. She jumped when the phone began a song from the late nineties. Chad laughed at her startled reaction and answered the phone. She thought for a moment, trying to remember the name of the song as she caught some of the chorus talking about not letting the days go by. It was a soulful song. It took her awhile before she finally identified it as The Flys’ “Got You (Where I Want You).” She got so caught up in her thoughts that she jumped and squealed when Chad playfully bit her nipple to get her attention. He licked the offended bud and smirked at her, rather smugly proud of himself.

He was sniggering when he handed her his cell.

“Do you know how hot and sexy that was, baby?” James’s low timbre husked through the phone. She squeaked inarticulately, feeling scorching liquid slipping from her pussy at his description of his reaction to seeing her sexed up in
his
shirt.

“As soon as I get back, I’m gonna strip you bare. Then, I’m gonna fuck you hard. You’re gonna feel so good around my hard cock. Later, your ass’ll be mine in the shower. If Chad’s there, he’ll be in your sweet cunt.” His voice was rough and low. It was seductive and suggestive. “Give the phone to Chad, darlin’.”

Whatever James was telling Chad apparently really turned him on and roused his lust again.

She found herself on her back and her legs spread again. Chad was talking to James, describing what he was seeing and what he was doing. He finally placed the phone on speaker and settled it onto her pelvis. It was warm, and she could feel James’s voice as he spoke. Chad began to lick her lower lips, describing her tangy essence with every dirty word in his vocabulary, and he had an expansive one.

James’s voice got rougher and rougher, almost as if he was approaching an orgasm before a strangled cry vibrated through the phone, pushing her over the edge.

Chad looked satisfied and tense all at the same time.

Treasure moved to her hands and knees and stalked over him, bringing herself eye level with an impressive erection while handing him the phone. She smirked at him before leaning down and licking the head, thoroughly bathing it with her tongue.

Chad shouted a string of curses into the phone, unable to put together a coherent sentence. She wanted to drive him further out of his mind and tried to take in as much of his length as she could. She licked, sucked, and pumped the shaft before toying with his tightening balls. She could hear James saying something indistinguishable for her at that moment through the phone as she brought Chad to a growling finish.

She swallowed and licked him clean, pleased with herself.

Chad handed her the phone as he flopped back onto a pillow. She held it to her ear as she studied his happy, carefree expression.

“My sweet, bad baby. That was fan-fucking-tastic. I can’t wait to get home and have your sweet pussy up close and in person. You made my balls ache when you screamed as you came. You made me explode. I’m still hot for you, though. The sound of you sucking and swallowing Chad made me want you all over again. Your ass is mine when I get home.” She blushed at his description of his orgasm. It was sexy, hot, and naughty. She loved it.

“I can’t wait until you get home then. I’ll be waiting, and I’ll be wearing your shirt.” She giggled as he groaned. They hung up, and Treasure laid her head on Chad’s shoulder.

She smiled down at him and stroked a fingertip over his chin and down his chest, just absorbing the feel of him.

When she and James finally wished each other a good night and good sleep and Chad had said his good-byes as well, Chad pulled her down to him and snuggled her close. He murmured something about a nap, but that was the last thing she remembered until they woke up just after midnight.

Chapter 19

Treasure jerked awake as Chad jumped up from the bed, startled. He yanked on his bottoms and ran down the stairs at top speed, grabbing something in his hand along the way. He held up his hand to signal her to stay as she started to follow.

She sat at the foot of the stairs, staying hidden and wondering what had woken him in the middle of the night. She finally stood and started toward the door, intent on seeing what was happening. Just as she neared the door cautiously, Chad stepped back inside, looking thoughtful.

“I heard a truck pull up and hang in the driveway. I then heard a door open and close,” he muttered, obviously disturbed.

“Who do you think it was?” she asked. She had a guess, but she hoped she was wrong.

Chad shrugged a shoulder, not answering. He scooped her into his arms and started back for the stairs after making sure the doors and windows were all locked and secured.

They were both on high alert, and Chad was obviously not taking any unnecessary chances.

She placed one palm against his racing heart and her other against her own.

She reached up and kissed him gently. “Let’s go back to bed and go back to sleep. Even if someone was there, they aren’t now, and there is nothing we can do about that,” she said softly, stifling a yawn.

They cuddled close together, Chad’s breath stirring her hair, encouraging her to calm down and allow sleep to overtake her once again. She started mumbling that it was probably nothing, trying to do the same for him. Once the comfortable darkness took her to her dreamland, she stayed there until movement woke her again.

Chad shifted around, and it was obvious he was getting agitated and frustrated with the alarm. It was saying it was time to get up. Treasure giggled as he began to curse the small machine, swearing that he was happy he was off the next day.

She stretched and got up to get ready for work.

Chad was pulling on his scrubs for work when she called him for a quick breakfast. His face was smooth from shaving, and she couldn’t resist pulling him closer for a kiss. They were amiable as they finished getting ready to go to work, Chad making plans for once they got home.

She was happy to be going back to the cheery bakery. A day off was always nice, but she really enjoyed her job. She had a lot of fun there while getting to talk with customers.

It helped make this place feel more like what she imagined a home would.

Treasure looked out of the window and noticed a beaten-up truck that looked familiar parked across the street. The woman who’d just left the bakery got into a dusty white car and left almost without Treasure’s notice. Her focus was on trying to see the driver of that truck. She could see a figure in the driver’s seat, but she couldn’t make out if that person was male or female, tall or short, or any other distinguishing detail except that whoever it was wore a baseball cap. She approached the vehicle without even thinking or noticing that she had walked out of the store. As soon as her foot edged off of the sidewalk, the engine fired up and the truck left. She stood in the road and watched the truck drive away.

She took notice of the tags on the truck as it tore down the street. Her eyes widened as she noticed they were from Mora County, New Mexico. She felt as though her heart stopped. Who would be here from New Mexico?

Whoever it was, she was sure this wouldn’t be good.

She turned and walked back into the store. It felt weird to just get back to work, but she didn’t know what else to do. Chad wouldn’t be off for several hours, and it would be a little bit before she was supposed to be off.

In the meantime, she had to figure out what, if anything, to say to Chad. She didn’t know what to tell him. It could be a coincidence, but Mora County was really close to Taos County.

She decided to wait to see if she continued to see the truck. Maybe just mentioning it in passing would be good. No need to make a big deal out of it.

That had to be the best idea.

Chapter 20

Treasure paced nervously as she sorted through everything that was flooding her mind.

“Oh,” she moaned as she flopped on the couch. “What am I going to do?”

She had seen the truck a grand total of five times over the past few weeks. On top of that, she still hadn’t even so much as spotted—much less had—her normal flow, and she kept trying to count back, which was hard since she had never been all that regular. That one time with Chad where passion had overruled them kept floating through her memory. She berated herself about not starting the pill or the patch or something and relying on the condoms, but the one time she had been on birth-control pills to help regulate her period, she had stayed so sick her daddy asked if she could just not take them.

She had never given a thought about being a mother, and now, the possibility was all too real. Just to add to that, she knew that the truck was still hanging around. She groaned again and grabbed a pillow, pulling it flush to her front and wrapping her arms and legs around it. She had a feeling she knew who was in it. She cursed Buddy once again.

A few tears slid down her cheeks as the stress began to catch up to her.

She jumped when the door opened and closed. Chad wasn’t supposed to be off for another hour or so. She thought back, trying to remember if the door had been locked or not.

Her heart was pounding as she looked around for something she could use to defend herself. Not spotting anything other than a laundry basket and the remote, she crept silently down the stairs, crouching low. Just as she peeked around the corner, the light flicked on. Both people shouted in surprise, and she found herself swooped up into a giant bear hug.

“James!” she shrieked excitedly.

“Hey, baby. I got back home just a tad early since I drove straight through. Chad’s not off yet?” he asked, keeping her body close to his and helping her to wrap her arms and legs around him.

He smiled as Treasure shook her head no. “Your heart is pounding awfully hard. Did I scare you that badly?” he asked, pulling his head back enough to look down at her.

“You scared the crap out of me,” she whispered.

She wrapped herself around James tightly and nuzzled her face into the safety of the place where his neck met his strong shoulders. Before she even noticed, she spilled about the truck and how many times as well as where she had seen it. She told him that she was planning on telling Chad and how scared she was but didn’t have anything more to say about and felt stupid because of that. She then told him who she suspected it may be even though she hadn’t seen who was driving it as of yet.

James made his way into the kitchen and to one of the chairs there before he sat down with her. He started shushing her gently and reassuring her that everything would be okay.

“You know we wouldn’t let anything happen to you. Everything will be all right. I am home now, and you won’t have to be alone at all for awhile. I will make sure nothing happens. Next time we see that truck, we will find out for sure who is in it. Understand?” He kept speaking softly as though she were a frightened child. “You should know by now that Chad and I love you. We couldn’t live with ourselves if anything bad ever happened to you again.”

She sniffed once and pulled back, looking directly into his eyes. They were warm, dark chocolate, pulling her own confession from her lips. “I love you and Chad, too,” she whispered.

“I am so glad to hear you say that,” another person said roughly in a gravelly voice from behind her.

“Chad?” she asked.

He stepped forward and leaned closer to her, kissing her lips. “We do love you, Treasure, and we want you to stay with us forever. We want you no matter what, and we want to have you with us forever. This is not a fling for any of us. I know this is not conventional, but we can work it out,” he said, wrapping an arm around her and draping the other one along James’s shoulder.

“Chad, there is something else I have to tell you both,” she said, suddenly even more scared than expressing her details on the truck that she kept seeing. “I love you, Chad, and I love you, James—” Her voice broke off, making it painfully obvious that she was having trouble telling them something and that she thought it was incredibly important.

“You can tell us. We want to know, and we want to help you,” Chad said encouragingly.

She grabbed James’s hand and deliberately dragged it to the lower part of her belly, below her belly button, and looked from the curious blue-gray eyes to the shocked dark brown ones. “I think I might be pregnant. I haven’t taken a test yet, but I think I might be,” she said nervously, gulping down her emotions as she studied the looks flashing across their faces.
