Chapter Five

Lisa sat at her desk and prayed Roland
didn’t come in today. Of all days she wanted him to work from out of the
office. It had ripped her heart out to leave Roland’s hotel room over the
weekend. She had promised him the weekend and couldn’t even get past the first
night. Maybe the fantasy she had was just that a fantasy and best left there.
The rest of her time, she’d second-guessed herself. She had voicemails and a
few texts from him he wanted to know if she was okay, but she hadn’t returned
any of them. A coupled of times she tried to call him and hung up before she
dialed the rest of this number.

When he strolled in and went to his
office, her breath caught. Damn it. Why had she gone and fallen for him? She’d
never fallen hard for anyone before, but of course when it happened it had to
be with a man she couldn’t be with. It served her right. A man who wanted a
woman to submit to him, and she’d bailed so fast on him. Wanting to be spanked
would have to stay a deep dark secret she never let out—ever. That would
be too much control.

Her
mind wondered back to the night her ex had tried to dominate her. She had
shared with him about her desire and he said he would try. He told her to lie
on the bed and went to town on her ass. There had been no gentleness. He had
smacked her behind until it was beat red and so sore that she couldn’t move.
She had bruises for almost two weeks.

“Stop.”
Lisa cried out as he landed the blow to her ass. She couldn’t take the pain
anymore. It rushed through her body and felt like someone had ripped her bottom
in half.

“Shut
up. You wanted me to be in charge. That means I get to do it as hard or as soft
as I want to.” He pressed a hand to her back and held her down as he rained
down three more blows.

Lisa
had screamed louder and once he let her up she couldn’t roll over. As he rounded
the corner of the bed, she dug down deep and got up. She faced him ready to
tell him to get the hell out, except he beat her to it and kicked her out of
the place they shared. But, not before he called her all kind of evil names for
this fantasy that she had. She came out of her memory and shook her head.

“Lisa, my office, now.”

Time to get this over with. She walked in
and shut the door behind her, and then took a seat across from him. He stood
and walked to the end of his desk and rested against it. Her heart beat wildly
against her chest as she waited.

“What happened?”

She shrugged her shoulder and hoped he
bought what said. “I’m not made to be a submissive.”

“Bull shit. Now tell me the truth. Did I
do something wrong?”

She wished that had been the case, so
could tell him yes and be done with all of this. He hadn’t done anything wrong.
This had been a mental block for her—a thing she wouldn’t be able to get
past. “No, sir.”

“Then what is it? Talk to me. I want to
help you.”

She nervously laughed and shook her head.
“No one can help me. I had a bad experience with an ex and spanking bothers me
now.”

Roland crossed his arms. “What did he
do?”

“He abused his power, kicked me out, and
then drained my bank account.” Pain flowed through her body as she remembered
what her ex had done to her. She’d openly asked him if they could try a
dominant/sub relationship, and he’d gone and turned into an asshole. Deep
inside of her heart she knew that Roland would never do that to her. He would
never do anything close to what her ex had.

“How did he abuse his power?”

She took a breath in and braced herself
to tell the short story of what had happened. “He beat my ass so hard that I
couldn’t sit down for two weeks. I was black and blue and he even made me bleed
during the spanking.” Lisa averted her eyes from his gaze. She didn’t want to
see the pity in his for what had happened to her.

Roland growled. “That man was a jerk. He
was no way a dominant man, because a true Dom would never do that to a person
under him. You know I would never do that to you, right?”

Lisa looked up at him. He would never
hurt her the way that her ex had. She didn’t even need to think on the answer.
She knew it without a shadow of a doubt. “I know. You would never hurt me.” She
shrugged her shoulders. “I should have never put you in the same category as
him. The start of the weekend had been the best thing I had ever experienced. I
have these desires and at times they scare me.” She opened her heart as she
spoke frankly with him. He created an environment where she felt comfortable
enough to do that.

“Me too, mi
princesa
,
you can always come and tell me what’s on your mind. What you desire. I’ll
never use your words against you. Ever.”

Roland took her by the hand and pulled
her into his arms. She didn’t stop him. The two days without him had been hell.
She’d missed his arms, missed the way he spoke to her, the feeling of being
protected when he held her. She melted against him and buried her face into his
chest. Home. She felt like she was home with him.

“He was no Dom. He was a jerk. I would
never do anything to hurt you like that. You mean too much to me.”

She raised her head. “I do?”

“Yes,
tu
,
mujer
loca
. Yes, you, crazy
woman.
Te
amo
. I love you.”

The breath in her lungs rushed from her
body. He loved her. He wanted her and for once she hadn’t been the only one to
fall first in a relationship. She wouldn’t have been able to handle a situation
like that again. Lisa had only been in love once before and her ex had put her
through the ringer. Tears filled her eyes.

“I love you, too.”

“Be mine.”

She smiled at him. “Si. Yes.”

He sealed their love with a hot kiss and
she knew her life would never be the same. Somehow she’d known deep down that
when she took the job with her boss, that her life would never be the same, and
now they’d have a lifetime to be together.

The
End.
